David Steiner

DAVID PAUL STEINER, Principal/ATTORNEY

Mr. Steiner, the senior partner in the firm, has earned an international reputation as a trusted advisor and litigator in art law and credit card processing matters. Mr. Steiner did his undergraduate work at Stanford University, graduating Cum Laude in 1971. He went to law school at the University of California Hastings College of the Law, where he founded and was Editor in Chief of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly. Mr. Steiner founded David Steiner & Associates in 1977, in Los Angeles. He also has relationships with firms in New York, London, Paris, Rome, and a number of other venues.

Mr. Steiner has lectured widely on art law subjects, both in the United States and in Europe, and also has written for various magazines and participated in many symposia. Mr. Steiner co-edited The Visual Artist Manual, the first of its kind, which was published in 1981, and has continued to specialize in art law and art litigation matters since that time. He also has served as an adjunct professor at University of Southern California Law Center, teaching a class in art law.

Although Mr. Steiner specializes in art law and art litigation matters, he also pursues practice areas involving complex business litigation in both State and Federal Courts, intellectual property litigation, and internet transactions and internet litigation, and enjoys a specialization in credit card processing litigation and cannabis related industries. Mr. Steiner, who is a former President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Barristers, is admitted to practice in the States of California and Colorado. He has been admitted Pro Hac Vice in many states, including Florida (U.S. District Court - Middle and Southern Districts of Florida), Massachusetts (U.S. District Court - District of Massachusetts), Rhode Island (U.S. District Court - District of Rhode Island), Nevada (U.S. District Court - District of Nevada, Las Vegas), Arizona (U.S. District Court - District of Arizona), Hawaii (U.S. District Court - District of Hawaii), New York (U.S. District Court - Southern District of New York), Utah (U.S. District Court - Central District of Utah) and Pennsylvania (U.S. District Court - Eastern District of Pennsylvania), North Carolina (state court). Mr. Steiner is also a principal in Northford Capital Advisors, LLC, a litigation finance fund, and Paladin Consultants, LLC, a litigation consultation group formed with Robert Weiner, prior managing litigation partner at McDermott, Will, and Emory (New York). Mr. Steiner sits on the advisory board of Shinnecock Partners Art Lending Fund.
